Latest Purchases ...

Haven't really bought a lot of CDs for a while ... the last time (seriously to look for one) would probably be the time when Shirley Kwan was in concert ... which got me to buy her CDs after enjoying her show tremendously.

Over the CNY holiday ... I ended up getting a few ... at the end of the day, those annual award shows are indeed good promotional vehicles, haha.

I actually also want to buy the new Joey Yung one too ... but debating ... wondering if she'll have a greatest hits coming out soon. Of course, it is also because after getting those 6 CDs above, I kind of regretted getting half of them.

After watching 4 award shows between Dec and Jan, you just kind of wonder how things have changed from the 80s. Used to be each of those superstars will get multiple songs ... and the others would be lucky just to get one. Now, it seems like a "pig sharing" thing, and you just wonder how some of those "new" young singers can even be qualified to have a top 10 song (not that I'm saying all the new young singers are not good).

Out of all those young generation ones, I would only qualify a few as real singers ... Joey, Denise, and Eason. Of course, I think the 80s superstars are better ... Leslie, Anita, Shirley, Sandy, Jacky, Sally, Aaron ... to name a few. These days, those singers just don't practice enough ... and most don't sing with their heart. As HOCC said in her concert, used to be you have a concert at the Colliseum after you have demonstrated consistently for a long time ... and a concert there is like a time to "show off" what you've achieved. Nowadays, I cannot believe that those new singers can have a concert after 1 or 2 albums. Having said that, it's a regret that I didn't get to see Denise's ...

Well ... my next concert hopefully would be Olivia Newton-John on Apr 15. At $680 per ticket, it's still worth it.
