Super Diamond Friends

Was chit-chatting with Mr. C ... urging him to get a new phone. He joked that his birthday is coming up ... and the N80 looks good. I replied that I can help him to gather his gift if he can send me a list of 50 friends ... and he smiled and said "I don't have many friends wor". So, he suggested to categorize his friends in different tiers:

Common = $50
Gold = $100
Platinum = $150
Diamond = $200
Super Diamond = $250

K immediately categorized herself as "common" friend ... but we laughed and agreed that AC and Mrs. L from Prince Edward Road are definitely "super diamond" (which I gladly informed them both today) ...

By the way, we call this "chip in" on a gift ... it's NOT a donation.

On a related note ... Mr. C will need fewer friends ... now that we found another model 6233 ... 2MB Pixel camera, supports MP3, FM radio, with mini SD card slot (up to 2GB), retail price $2,698.

Love Music ...

Last night went to a Love Music concert at Asia Expo ...

The arena was ok except being a very long U-shape arrangement, the stage was very far from most of the seats. The middle area was "standing area", and I felt sorry for those that are at the 2nd half in the back since they probably can't see much, and the singers didn't come out to the very front that often either. We were at area 5 which is at the front of the 2nd half seating area, and it was a bit far away already (although not too bad). The sound system was not good though as you can hear the music quite loudly (plus the even louder noise all around you from those stupid plastic bom bom sticks that the organizer put on your seat), but you can barely hear the singing. That is especially true for the first few singers/groups ... we were ready to ask for our money back. It was quite ironic that around 10pm, they made an announcement that the show is starting ... and then the Korean singer Se7en came on stage, followed by Denise Ho and lastly Aaron Kwok. True indeed, that's when we finally see some real performers (noticed how I used the word "performer" ... meaning can both sing and dance/perform).

The transportation arrangement going to Asia Expo was ok ... but from Expo back to town was quite bad. I saw some very unhappy tourists at the Airport because the Airport Express train (two in a row at least) was packed already by the time it reached the airport, with no seats and already many people standing. MTR really needs to think about how to handle the crowd after these shows, such as having one train bypassing the Airport and another bypassing the Asia Expo so that the tourists can get on. Many tourists around the world have complimented Hong Kong for the ease of getting into city via the Airport Express ... otherwise this would make us look very bad indeed.

To conclude ... I'm not sure at $200 per ticket (plus having to use up points) ... is worth it.

Who's Afraid of the Boss?

Not sure if it is just the trend ... or how the Business environment has become these days ... but there has been so many "horror" stories about "the BOSS" lately.   I get those Dilbert things from various colleagues and friends ... and then I see an article (titled "True Tales of Nightmare Bosses" in the current issue of People magazine about terrible bosses (plus the movie with Meryl Streep as the horror boss) ... and even on tonight's Desperate Housewives, it shows the Boss making a male employee eat a donut that's been dropped in the toilet bowl ... and then his female executive (who happens to be the guy's wife) eating a pound of raw bacon to settle the bet with him so that he would stop "playing" her husband.

Guess good bosses are becoming dinosaurs ...

This is the first posting by email ... at the urge of Mr. C ... it's 9:58am ... both of us decide that today is a good day to slack off. Of course, this has no relation to the fact that today is pay day ...

Just noticed on TV last night that STCB is offering new Disney "toy" when opening the Dream Account ... so quickly asked Mom to open one as she was saying that she needs to open an individual account for the "fruit money" which she's entitled later this year. Unfortunately, she already opened one at BOC ... sob sob.

Went to CD Warehouse twice this week looking for the VCD for m as gifts (please see this blog http://amoozing.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_amoozing_archive.html for the reason or visit the official website http://www.savingfacemovie.com for the more information on the movie) ... but they were all sold out already. I myself got the DVD. There were several special "features" on the DVD, such as Deleted Scenes, Behind the Scenes, and Sundance Festival highlights. The Deleted Scenes were a bit disappointing ... and I can understand why they were "deleted". The Behind the Scenes and Sundance Festival highlights were more entertaining. It is kind of interesting that when watching the DVD, I noticed little things that didn't notice before when watching the VCD ... such as the background music or some little gestures. Guess that's why you have to pay more ...

OK ... that's all for now ... Mr. C is wondering why a "test posting" is taking so long ...
